The cost of drugs from Canada is set to soar for millions of Americans because of a federal rule

What happened

A new U.S. customs rule suspends the de minimis exemption for low-value shipments, including medications, which could restrict access to affordable Canadian drugs for Americans. The rule takes effect on Oct. 22 and requires more data and a bond guarantee for medications mailed from outside the U.S.
