What happened

University of Utah researchers released a report highlighting the dangers of extreme heat for people experiencing homelessness in Salt Lake Valley and recommended policies to improve access to cooling resources during summer months. The report included interviews with 24 people experiencing unsheltered homelessness about how they cope with heat in public spaces and how city and private business policies impact their ability to do so.
